Rory McIlroy was struggling early on in his winner-takes-all clash with Kevin Na at the WGC-Dell Match Play, but he got back to all-square at the turn with an amazing birdie from just inside 70 feet.
McIlroy and Na both won their opening two matches in Group 2 to set up a straight shoot-out for a place in the last 16, and the American looked on course to oust the defending champion when he went two up after five holes.
The world No 3 pulled one back at the seventh, but a poor pitch to the ninth left him in three-putt territory while Na was sitting pretty as he lined up a birdie putt from just 15 feet.
But McIlroy turned the match on his head as he sent his monster putt off on a great line, and his ball dropped into the middle of the cup to send the galleries into raptures.
McIlroy would eventually go on to advance to the knockout stages with victory at the 20th hole, and his extraordinary birdie at the ninth proved a huge moment in the encounter as Na could not match his three.
