Ariya Jutanugarn claimed her fifth win of an incredible 2016 season with a four-shot victory at the Canadian Pacific Women's Open.

Jutanugarn, who only won her first LPGA Tour event as recently as May, made it five wins in less than four months with a dominant display of scoring at Priddis Greens in Calgary.

The British Open champion, who withdrew from the Olympic Games tournament midway through with a knee injury, finished the 72 holes in Alberta on 23 under par, closing with a six-under 66.

She had moved into the lead on Friday with a round of 64 and continued to pile up the birdies over the weekend to come out on top of a very strong field.

Jutanugarn started her day with a birdie at the opening hole but gave that shot back at the third with what turned out to be her only bogey of the round.

She picked up shots at the seventh and eighth and added four more birdies on the way home, playing in a relaxed fashion with little pressure coming from her closest challengers.

Second place went to Korea's Sei Young Kim, who did manage to better Jutanugarn's final round, but only by one stroke.

Kim was six under for the day coming to the 16th, and in need of a huge turnaround to claim the title, but she dropped her only shot at the par four, meaning her birdies at the last two were only enough to secure the runner-up berth.

She edged past compatriot In Gee Chun, who finished third on 18 under, while home player Alena Sharp finished with a 67 to take fourth.

Round of the day honours went to Australian veteran Karrie Webb, who made up 22 places on Sunday to finish in a tie for fifth place.

Webb had eight birdies, finishing her round with four on the trot to post a 64 and join Sweden's Anna Nordqvist on 15 under.

World No 1 Lydia Ko finished on 13 under, good enough for a tie for seventh, but it was a disappointing final day for Northern Ireland's Stephanie Meadow.

Meadow was in a position to challenge for the title going into the final 18 holes but she could only manage a level-par 72 to drop into a tie for 10th, 11 shots adrift of Jutanugarn.
