In Gee Chun doubled her overnight advantage to take a two-shot lead in to the weekend at the Evian Championship.
The South Korean followed her birdied-filled 63 with a second-round 66 to set the clubhouse target, with first-round joint-leader Sung Hyun Park and China's Shanshan Feng her nearest challengers on 11 under.
World No 1 Lydia Ko carded a three-under 68 to move to four under and in to a tie for 13th, while Charley Hull is safely through to the weekend after posting a one-under 70 at the Evian Resort.
Having picked up two shots in as many holes from the second, Chun made her only blemish at the next on her way to a front-nine 34.
Back-to-back gains from the 12th saw last year's US Women's Open champion claim the outright lead, before doubling her cushion with a birdie-three on the penultimate hole.
Olympic bronze medallist Feng, last year's Order of Merit winner, birdied two of her final three holes to stay within two of the lead, while Park closed her 68 with successive gains to join the tie-for-second.
A bogey-free 66 from So Yeon Ryu lifts the Korean to fourth ahead of Angela Stanford, while two-time major winner Brittany Lincicome matched the joint-low round of the day to get to eight under.
Annie Park, one off the lead heading in to the second round, struggled to a two-over 73 to join the group on five under, with defending champion Ko a further shot adrift despite firing five birdies in a much-improved performance.
