Two events added to Open Qualifying Series ahead of 146th Open

Forty four places in the 2017 Open Championship at Royal Birkdale will be available via an expanded Open Qualifying Series.

Two new events - the SMBC Singapore Open and the Ho Tram Players Championship in Vietnam - have been added to the schedule, taking the total number to 15 across 10 different countries.

The Emirates Australian Open, which will be staged from November 17-20 at Royal Sydney Golf Club, will be the first chance for players to secure a place in the 146th Open from July 20-23.

The leading three players who finish in the top 10 and ties and who are not already exempt will book their place at Royal Birkdale, where Sweden's Henrik Stenson will defend the Claret Jug won in record-breaking fashion at Royal Troon this year.

Three places will be on offer at the Joburg Open in February, and four places at Royal Birkdale available at the Gateway to The Open Mizuno Open in Japan next May. 

Golf

A further three spots will each be up for grabs at the Open de France, the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open and the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open.
