Inbee Park claims HSBC Women's Champions tournament in Singapore

Inbee Park clinched the HSBC Women's Champions tournament in Singapore by a single stroke on Sunday.

The 29-year-old closed with a final round eight-under 64 to finish on 19-under at the Sentosa Golf Club, ahead of 21-year-old Thai Ariya Jutanugarn, who ended second after a final-round 66.

Sung Hyun Park, overnight leader Michelle Wie and No 1-ranked Lydia Ko were all part of the final group of the day, and were within touching distance into 18 when play was suspended for lightning.

None of them could catch Park though, with Sung Hyun Park finishing at four-under on the day and 16-under for the tournament, while Wie was level par on Sunday and finished five strokes behind.

Ko was also even on the day, finishing at 12-under for the tournament while Brooke Henderson shot 66 to finish five behind Park.

The victory in Singapore was the 18th LPGA Tour win of Park's career.

The success follows Park's Olympic gold medal in Rio in the summer and is her first LPGA tournament victory since November 2015.
