Danny Willett and Tyrrell Hatton take part in the skimming challenge at Augusta

Players attempting to skim the ball across the water at the 16th hole during their practice rounds has become something of a tradition at the Masters.

After taking their tee shots as normal, players are encouraged by the patrons to attempt the trick shot from the bank just ahead of the tee box.

Nick Faldo has previously managed to skim four balls in a row across the water in quick succession while both Vijay Singh, in 2009, and Martin Kaymer, three years later, have hit holes in one after skipping the ball onto the green.

There was no repeat this year but defending champion Danny Willett and his fellow Englishman Tyrrell Hatton kept the crowd entertained with another equally impressive feat.

With the patrons watching on with great anticipation, the pair hit their shots in perfect unison, skipping the balls, side by side, across the water, onto the green and to within just a few feet of the pin.
