Tiger Woods was barely able to keep upright following his DUI arrest on Monday

Florida police have released some alarming footage of the arrest of Tiger Woods.

The former world No 1 golfer appears dazed and confused and unable to follow simple instructions when he was apprehended for driving under the influence (DUI).

He was found asleep at the wheel of his parked car in the early hours of Monday morning and blamed it on an unexpected reaction to prescription drugs.

In this dashboard video, Woods is being guided through a sobriety test by a police officer.

After getting out of the vehicle, which had flat tyres and damage, he struggled to even stay upright.

A breath test registered a blood alcohol level of zero percent. The 14-time major champion has been charged with a DUI and will appear in court on July 5.

Woods, who is recovering from back surgery, apologised and said he took "full responsibility" after spending nearly four hours in jail.
