Matt Wallace is part of a three-way tie for the lead after the opening round of the Made In Denmark, where defending champion Thomas Pieters made a horrendous start.
Wallace posted a seven-under 64 to match clubhouse leaders Steve Webster and Wade Ormsby, with Robert Karlsson one of three players one off the pace.
Lucas Bjerregaard double-bogeyed the last to sit in the group on five under, while Pieters lies 10 strokes off the pace after struggling to a three-over 74.
Wallace, who won the Open de Portugal earlier this season, carded five birdies in a six-hole stretch from the third and cancelled out a blemish at the 10th with a gain at the par-four next.
Three more birdies from the 15th briefly lifted Wallace in to the outright advantage, only for him to bogey the last after finding a plugged lie off the tee and failing to get up-and-down from the fairway.
Ormsby birdied four of his first six holes and played a three-hole stretch in four under on his way to grabbing the morning lead, with Webster birdieing the last to close a blemish-free card and also get to seven under.
Karlsson is joined in a tied-fourth alongside fellow Swede Oscar Lengden and France's Benjamin Hebert, while former major champion John Daly sits in the group on four under with Thorbjorn Olesen.
European Ryder Cup captain Thomas Bjorn marked his 500th European Tour appearance with a two-over 73, with Pieters a further shot down the leaderboard after dropping seven shots in a five-hole stretch.
Pieters reached the turn in 33 but saw his round unravel with a double-bogey at the second and a dropped shot at the fourth, before racking up an ugly quadruple-bogey eight at the fifth.
