Clement Sordet fired a hole-in-one during the second round of the NBO Golf Classic Grand Final in Oman

Clement Sordet bolstered his hopes of promotion to the European Tour with a stunning hole-in-one during the second round of the NBO Golf Classic Grand Final.

The Frenchman began the week 12th on the Road to Oman, with the top 15 in the season-long Challenge Tour standings after this week securing playing cards on the top tier in 2018.

Sordet followed an opening-round 68 with a five-under 67 at Al Mouj Golf to move within two strokes of midway leader Estanislao Goya, with one shot standing out from his second round.

The world No 311 birdied three of the first seven holes in his second round before moving further up the leaderboard with a perfect tee-shot at the par-three eighth.

Sordet's effort on the 184-yard hole pitched eight feet short of the flag and kicked off the surface before slowly trickling into the cup for a hole-in-one.
