Whee Kim fired a bogey-free 65 to grab a one-shot lead after the opening round of the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.
The South Korean took advantage of calm morning conditions to post six birdies at TPC Summerlin, with a final-hole gain setting a clubhouse target that couldn't be matched.
J.J. Spaun, Ryan Blaum, John Huh and Alex Cejka share second spot after posting matching 66s, with Jimmy Stanger also on five under with three holes to play.
Stanger was one of 30 players unable to complete their opening round before darkness saw play suspended at 5.52pm local time (12.52am GMT), with play resuming at 7.30am on Friday.
"I think I played pretty decent," Kim said. "It's a nice start. I think I'm in a really good position."
Beginning on the back nine, Kim reached the turn in 33 and followed a birdie-three at the first with a 25-footer at the seventh before closing his blemish-free card with a gain at the ninth.
Spaun recovered from back-to-back blemishes from the 13th to birdie three of his final four holes and get within one of the lead, with Huh moving up the leaderboard by picking up four shots in his final six holes.
Billy Horschel and Daniel Summerhays are part of the group of 10 players on four under, with last week's Sanderson Farms Championship winner Ryan Armour a further stroke back.
Seamus Power was three under with four holes to play when play was suspended, while Russell Knox opened with a two-under 69.
