Shanshan Feng will become the first male or female Chinese golfer to top the world rankings after claiming a second win in as many weeks on the LPGA Tour.

The 28-year-old claimed a one-shot victory on home soil at the Blue Bay LPGA, following on from successfully defending her Japan Classic title last week.

Feng mixed four birdies with two bogeys on her way to a two-under 70 in Hainan Island to hold off Moriya Jutanugarn and secure a third victory of the season, seeing her rise to world No 1.

"I'm really, really excited and very proud of myself and I think it's special because I won this tournament to become world No 1," Feng said. "I just want 2017 to keep going."

Jutanugarn joined Feng in bogeying the penultimate hole, before seeing a birdie putt at the last lip out to leave the 23-year-old a shot back on nine under.
