"I need to go into tomorrow with confidence," Rose said. "In golf it feels like a long time ago I last won. Obviously it's not.

"The key to winning [on Sunday] is the guy that goes out there and respects this golf course, takes his chances when they come and commits to the shot. That's basically how I'm going to go about it."

Rose will tee off in the final group on Sunday alongside PGA Tour rookie Conners, after the Canadian posted a three-under 68 to maintain his hopes of a wire-to-wire victory.

"I feel like I did that really well, Conners said. "I was really patient out there, hit a lot of good tee balls and picked my shots to be aggressive at some pins.
