The duo finished tied on 15-under in regulation play and could not be separated after four play-off holes on Sunday before darkness fell, taking the contest to a fifth day for the first time in tournament history.

The three players shared the spoils over the first three extra holes on Monday morning at Mission Hills Country Club, only for Lindberg to secure victory with a birdie at the eighth extra hole.

"I know I'm a grinder and towards the end yesterday I felt that this is mine and I could do this," Lindberg said. "I just kept fighting away."

The two players ventured to the par-four 10th for the fifth play-off hole, where Lindberg almost holed from 30 feet as the pair registered two-putt pars.

Park found the bunker off the next tee - the par-three 17th - as Lindberg found thick rough just short of the green, only for the pair to get up-and-down to sink clutch putts and extend the contest.
