Ahead of defending his Open de Espana title, we look back at the top shots from Andrew "Beef" Johnston's 2016 victory.

The Open de Espana returns to the European Tour schedule this week, two years on from Andrew “Beef” Johnston’s breakthrough win at the event.

The tournament's history stretches back to 1912 but was missing from the 2017 calendar due to financial reasons, having previously featured every year since the European Tour's inception in 1972.

Centro Nacional de Golf in Madrid will host the event for the first time in more than a decade, while Johnston is defending champion following his victory when the tournament was last held at Valderrama in 2016.

Johnston was a stroke off the pace after the opening round and fired back-to-back 74s in windy conditions at the former Ryder Cup venue over the following two days, keeping him within one off the lead heading into the final round.
