The seven-time European Tour winner posted a two-under 70 in windy conditions at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam to get to seven under and a shot clear of Andrew Dodt.

Beginning on the back nine and holding a share of the overnight lead, Qurios went birdie-bogey over his first six holes before draining a 25-footer at the 17th for the first of three consecutive gains around the turn.

The Spaniard three-putted the fourth and dropped another shot at the sixth when failing to get up-and-down from the bunker, only to hole from 15 feet at the next to reclaim top spot.

Dodt recovered from bogeying two of his opening six holes to card three gains in a four-hole stretch from the eighth, before eagling the 12th and birdieing the 14th to sign for a joint-low round-of-the-day 68.
