Sergio Garcia hurled his driver into the bushes during the second round of the Valero Texas Open

Sergio Garcia let his frustrations get the better of him as he hurled a club in to the bushes during the second round of the Valero Texas Open.

A fortnight on from firing five balls into the water on Augusta's par-five 15th on his way to a missed cut as defending champion at the Masters, Garcia failed to keep his cool en-route to another early exit at TPC San Antonio.

Looking to bounce back from his opening-round 74, Garcia cancelled out a birdie at the 14th with a blemish at the 16th before posting back-to-back gains to reach the turn in 34.

Garcia missed the fairway with the first two tee shots on his second nine and bogeyed the par-fourth fourth, with the Spaniard then experiencing an uncharacteristic bout of rage at the next hole.

After finding the native area off the fifth tee, Garcia took his anger out on his driver and launched the club deep into the bushes to the left of the tee box.
