Tiger Woods birdies final hole to make cut at Wells Fargo Championship

Tiger Woods narrowly made the cut at the Wells Fargo Championship after firing a final-hole birdie at Quail Hollow.
The 14-time major champion struggled on the greens for the second successive day and stuttered to a two-over 73 in North Carolina, failing to register a birdie until his final hole.
"I've hit it good enough to be right up next to that lead," Woods said. "If I just putt normal, I'm right there. I'm hitting it fine, and I just need to make some putts.
"Hopefully, this weekend I'll hit it the way I've been hitting it and get a hot putter on the weekend. You never know."
Woods was six strokes off the pace after the opening round and slipped further down the leaderboard during a frustrating display on Friday, with his birdie finish seeing him sneak into the weekend on the expected cut mark.
Beginning on the back nine, Woods failed to capitalise on the par-five 10th and opened with a two-putt par before missing from nine feet to save par at the 11th.
Woods failed to convert birdie chances over his next two holes, with a three-putt bogey from distance at the 14th seeing him reach the turn in 38.
The former world No 1 saw a run of pars ended with a three-putt bogey from inside 20 feet at the par-three sixth, with Woods squandering a birdie opportunity from six feet at the par-five next.
Woods misjudged a short pitch on to the driveable par-four eighth green and could only make par, leaving him requiring a final-hole birdie to be assured of progressing to the weekend.
After finding the middle of the par-four fairway off the ninth tee and getting his approach to within 12 feet of the flag, Woods found the centre of the target to card his only birdie of the round.
