Rocco Forte Open: Steve Brown and Ryan Evans one off halfway lead

English pair Steve Brown and Ryan Evans are a shot off the pace at the halfway stage of the Rocco Forte Open.

Brown birdied three of his opening four holes on his way to a five-under 66 at Verdura Golf Club, as Evans post a second-round 69 to also finish eight under par.

France's Julien Guerrier continued his bogey-free start and added a 65 to his opening 68 to join overnight pacesetter Lucas Bjerregaard at the top of the leaderboard.

"It feels good, it was a battle out there," Bjerregaard said. "Everything from hitting the fairway to five-foot putts are really tough so I'm very happy with my game today."

Mike Lorenzo-Vera fired a round-of-the-week 64 to grab fifth spot ahead Joakim Lagergren, with English duo Steve Webster and Paul Waring a further stroke off the pace.
