Rory McIlroy is chasing a second BMW PGA Championship title, four years on from his season-changing victory at Wentworth.
McIlroy heads into Sunday tied for the lead with Francesco Molinari, leaving him well-placed to become the first player since Luke Donald to win the event multiple times.
The Northern Irishman went into the final round in 2014 seven shots adrift of 54-hole leader Thomas Bjorn, only to fire a closing 66 and claim a one-shot victory.
McIlroy eagled the fourth and cancelled out a blemish at the sixth with a birdie at the next, before bogeying the ninth to see him turn in 34.
Three birdies in the first four holes of his back nine lifted McIlroy up the leaderboard, with back-to-back gains over his final two holes seeing him post a clubhouse target that wasn't matched.
Victory for McIlroy was the first of three in a special summer, with major wins at The Open and the PGA Championship lifting him top of the world rankings.
