Lucas Bjerregaard and Lucas Glover prompted the biggest cheers of the week at the PGA Championship with two stunning shots on the penultimate hole at Bethpage Black.

The boisterous New Yorkers around the green celebrated wildly when Bjerregaard recorded the first hole-in-one of the tournament, and the noise levels ramped up moments later when Glover holed out from a greenside bunker.

Bjerregaard was having a tough day and made three bogeys in four holes on the back nine to slip to four over for the day, but he lifted his spirits in grand style when his arrow-straight six-iron at the daunting 206-yard par-three pitched on the front of the green and hopped straight into the cup on the second bounce.

The talented young Dane would go on to bogey the last to close on three over, but he had done enough to record his first top-20 finish in a major just a month after his encouraging Masters debut in which he finished tied for 21st at Augusta National.

Glover, meanwhile added another great Bethpage memory to his collection as the 2009 US Open champion played a perfect splash out for an unlikely birdie and high-fived his fellow Lucas amid a standing ovation from the fans.
