In-form Korean targets maiden major in 2008

KJ Choi has set his sights on breaking his major duck in 2008 and admits it is the Masters crown that he covets most. The Korean started the new season in some style last weekend as he claimed a wire-to-wire victory at the Sony Open in Honolulu. It is the fourth consecutive campaign that the 37-year-old has won on the PGA Tour and his latest triumph lifted him up into seventh in the world rankings. Choi - who finished joint-eighth at last year's Open Championship - admits the next logical step is for him to open his major account and he would love to do so by claiming the champion's Green Jacket at Augusta. "I'm not trying to win a major just to gain respect or increase my fan base. I want to win a major because I'm a professional golfer, and winning a major is the highest achievement," he declared. "I think if I work hard and win that major, all the rest will just follow that. I don't have to worry about anything like that. "All the major championships are difficult to win and I would love to win any one of them, but my heart is really with the Masters. "I have tremendous respect for that golf course and the tournament. It just makes me feel very comfortable being there at the Masters."
