American in control in France after impressive 67

American Morgan Pressel will take a two-shot lead into the final round of the Evian Masters in Evian-les-Bains, France. The 22-year-old fired a hugely impressive 67 on Saturday to move herself to the top of the leaderboard. Pressel now stands at 11-under-par, two clear of South Korean duo Jeong Jang and Jiyai Shin. World number four Shin produced a fine 68 to move herself into contention, while Jang shot 70 as she also finished on nine-under-par. But it was Pressel who made the most decisive move as she put together a round that contained four birdies, a bogey and a cracking eagle at the last. Fellow American Brittany Lincicome also produced an eagle as she carded a joint best of the day 65 to charge into a share of fourth alongside compatriot Alexis Thompson (67) on eight-under. Overnight leader Mika Miyazato slipped off the pace after she could only muster a patchy 74 that saw her drop back into a share of sixth, four shots off the lead. Melissa Reid is the leading Englishwoman, a 71 today putting her joint 27th. Home favourite Gwladys Nocera was one off the lead overnight, but the Frenchwoman fell away with a poor 76, undone by five bogeys. Michelle Wie had an improved day after her lethargic 77 on Friday, showing more consistency with a 70 to move to one-under overall.
