Matteo Manassero says his victory in the Castello Masters is more important than the record he achieved in winning in Valencia. The Italian became the youngest-ever European Tour winner at the age of 17 but admits he is not concerned with breaking records. Manassero is trying to stay focused on build on his first success, which came just six months into his professional career. "I'm not really thinking about this at the moment, I'm still thinking about the European Tour win that I achieved, but I will probably think about the record in the future," he told Sky Sports News. "I want to win more events, a major or a Ryder Cup is obviously the biggest dream a golfer can get." He said the recent success of the Molinari brothers plus his own emergence is bringing the game to the forefront of people's minds in his native country. "It's getting more popular," he added. "Obviously with three players winning tournaments and being part of a winning Ryder Cup team it's great. "People are starting to talk about golf more. It's important that golf finally has some professionals do good after (Costantino) Rocca in the country, so that's what really inspires the youngsters to play." Manassero admitted that, like so many youngsters on the continent, he was inspired by Seve Ballesteros as a boy. "Seve Ballesteros has always been my idol. His personality and what he has done for golf and the tournaments that he won and they way he won them was different to other golfers," he said.
