Toe and neck injuries hamper Czech-born star

As if a broken toe wasn't enough for Alex Cejka to worry about at Congressional, he now has a neck injury to contend with as well. The 40-year-old Czech-born star will quite literally limp into action at this week's US Open, with the tough course not his only problem. Cejka broke the little toe on his right foot over a month ago, but carried on playing after cutting a hole in the side of his golf shoes. That problem dealt with, Cejka's injury woes returned last Friday when he woke up with a stiff neck. He pulled out of the second round at the St Jude Classic, worried it might be a recurrence of the pinched nerve he suffered two years ago. Cejka was eighth at Pebble Beach last year and fourth in the 2003 US PGA Championship.
