Open de Andalucia back at Aloha Golf Club after four-year absence

The European Tour will return to the Aloha Golf Club for the first time in four years when it plays host to the Open de Andalucia in March. Having staged the tournament in 2007 and 2008, the Marbella venue will welcome back the event once again with a €1 million prize fund at stake. World No.2 Lee Westwood was victorious on the course when the tournament was first held at the Aloha club, while Frenchman Thomas Levet prevailed over English teenager Oliver Fisher in 2008. The Open de Andalucia has been on the road for the last three years with the 2009 edition held at the Real Club de Golf de Sevilla, before a two-year stint at the Parador de Malaga Golf where Louis Oosthuizen claimed his maiden European Tour title in 2010. The 2012 competition, again to be organised by 18-time European Tour champion Miguel Angel Jimenez, will now take place over Aloha's par-72 lay-out which was designed Javier Arana. European Tour chief operating officer Keith Waters expressed his gratitude to Jimenez for his efforts in establishing the tournament on the calendar, stating: "We are especially grateful to Miguel Angel Jimenez, who is a superb ambassador and host for the tournament for his company's commitment to staging the event."
