Shanshan Feng came from off the pace to win the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia by three shots in Kuala Lumpur.
The Chinese player closed the tournament with an eight-under par round of 63 to catch and pass overnight leader Pornanong Phatlum, who led by three going into the last 18 holes.
Feng looked like having to settle for a high-placed finish going into the back-nine, making a couple of birdies before the turn, but she caught fire on the way home.
Four successive birdies came from the 11th and an eagle at the 16th meant she finished on 18-under for the tournament.
Phatlum started the day on 14-under and added her second birdie of the day on the 10th, but the big turning point came at the 15th where she dropped two strokes just as Feng was making eagle a hole ahead.
She eventually had to settle for second place, one stroke ahead of a three-way tie for third.
That group included Sweden's Pernilla Lindberg, who was another player to make a flying finish - she matched Feng's round of 63, finishing with four birdies in her last five holes.
Lindberg was joined by Korea's Chella Choi and So Yeon Ryu, who both finished with four-under par rounds of 67.
“Last week I was defending champion in China at Reignwood and I did really bad.” Feng said.
"So coming into this week, I had no pressure at all. Even though like this morning until like the 17th hole I still didn’t think I was going to win. What I was doing was just to focus on every shot and just try to do my best and hope that putts can fall. That’s all I did.”
