England's Charley Hull had to settle for second place behind fellow teenager Xi Yu Lin of China in the Sanya Ladies Open in Hainan on Sunday.
Hull carded a final round of 69 at Yalong Bay Golf Club, but saw 18-year-old rising star Lin recover from an early bogey with four birdies and an eagle in a closing 67 to win by five shots.
"It was a good day and I'm happy with how I'm playing," Hull, who is also 18, said. "It was windy out there again today. I nearly holed so many long putts, but they were all on the edge.
"I'm pretty happy with the way I'm putting and I'm not missing any short putts like I did here last year so I'm happy and looking forward to next week."
Lin finished ninth in the inaugural Sanya Ladies Open in 2010 as a 14-year-old amateur and has never finished outside the top-10 in the tournament.
This year, she came to Yalong Bay fresh off her fourth professional win on the CLPGA, at the previous week’s Sanya’s Hills Classic, but this was her first victory on the Ladies European Tour, where she is a second year member.
Biggest win
“I think this is the biggest win of my career because it’s my first win on the Ladies European Tour,” Lin said.
“My mum was with me this week and she always brings me good luck, because in 2012, she came to watch me for the first time in two years when I won my first professional career win on the CLPGA.
This time she came and I earned my first win on the Ladies European Tour, so I think she’s kind of my lucky star.”
