Howard Clark hits a hole in one whilst explaining how to play the 17th hole at Sawgrass.

When previewing the 2000 Players Championship for Sky Sports, Howard Clark arrived on the tee at the 17th and described the best way to tackle one of the most iconic holes in the golfing world.

A short-iron to the heart of the famous island green, two careful putts, take your par and run to the 18th tee.

However, what followed was one of the golden moments in the Sky Sports archives.

Determined to prove that actions can often speak louder than words, Clark teed up a ball and decided to personally demonstrate the difficulties posed by the 137-yard par-three.

After plucking an eight-iron, the former Ryder Cup star hit a perfect high draw and watched with amazement as his ball landed softly on the green and made its way to the bottom of the cup.

The timing was as priceless as Clark's reaction, and the moment is deservedly replayed every year during the extensive Sky Sports coverage of golf's unofficial "Fifth Major".
