Justin Rose is well known for keeping his emotions under wraps, but his temper boiled over at TPC Sawgrass after he got into trouble with a wayward tee shot at the fifth.

Rose was forced to take a penalty drop with his ball buried under dense shrubbery close to the water, and he first took out his frustration on his bag with a hefty boot that almost resulted in his clubs rolling down the bank into the water.

The Englishman then pulled his third left of the green into an awkward lie on the fringe of a bunker, and he threw his club back towards the bushes - almost hitting his caddie.

Ironically, Rose had tweeted earlier that he has this week celebrated seven years with Mark Fulcher - "Fooch" - on his bag!
