Bubba Watson remains two shots clear at the Travelers Championship after shooting a second round of 67 at TPC River Highlands.
The American had scorched round in 62 on Thursday but played a little more conservatively on Friday due to the windy conditions.
However, he did not drop a shot all day and, having begun at the 10th, he made birdies at 14, three and seven to reach 11-under par for the tournament.
Watson won the tournament in 2010 for his first PGA Tour title and the two-time Masters champion is trying to become the first wire-to-wire winner at TPC River Highlands since Peter Jacobsen in 2003.
Americans Brian Harman and Brian Stuard and Sweden’s Carl Pettersson are in a three-way tie for second at nine-under.
Harman had six birdies in a fine round of 65 while Pettersson carded a 66 and Stuard went round in 67.
Stuard pulled within a shot of Watson after back-to-back birdies on 15 and 16 but he bogeyed the 17th after hitting his second shot over the green and missing an 8-foot par putt.
Scott Brown began his day with a double-bogey and went out in 38 but he then made six birdies in a row from the 11th to come home in 29 and reach eight-under for the event after a round of 67.
Jason Gore is also at eight-under after a 68 on Friday, five birdies on the back nine helping him to come home in 31.
Chris Stroud (67) is the third member of the eight-under group while Nick Watney, Keegan Bradley and Francesco Molinari of Italy (followed a 67 with a 66) are among the players at seven-under.
The leaderboard is quite congested and 33 players are within six shots of the lead heading into the weekend.
