Amy Yang takes a three-stroke lead in the US Women's Open

Amy Yang opened up a three-shot lead at the US Women's Open as she fired a second-round 66 in Pennsylvania on Friday.
The South Korean was one shot off the lead after an opening 67 but went one better than that with five birdies and a bogey to sit seven under and three clear of American Stacy Lewis and Japan's Shiho Oyama.
Should Yang maintain her form and be victorious come Sunday, her win will come after four US Open top-10s in the last five years, her best finish being second in 2012.
Yang reached the turn in level-par 35 but fired four consecutive birdies from the 11th and struck her approach at the 14th to within a foot and surge clear.
"I just enjoy it out here," Yang said. "And I know the golf courses are very tough; I just enjoy the tough condition of the golf courses."
Oyama also recorded a 66 with six birdies and two bogeys while last year's runner-up Lewis made one birdie less in a round of 67.
"I just started playing golf, is really what it was," Lewis said, "I was thinking a lot those first 10 or 11 holes about my golf swing and just not playing. So I got to just playing golf, and it's what you're seeing in the scores."
Overnight leader Marina Alex was a further shot back after a 71 while fellow early pacesetters Jane Park and Karrie Webb both fired 72 to sit two under alongside world No 1 Inbee Park.
Sweden's Pernilla Lindberg was the highest-placed European at even par, the same score as defending champion Michelle Wie. Dame Laura Davies was two over with Charley Hull three over after they both hit 72 on Friday.
