Hundreds of fans gathered at Princes Dock in Liverpool for the head-to-head target-golf challenge, where six players tried to score as many points as possible by hitting balls on to a floating green.

A maximum of 50 points were given for balls reaching the inner circle near the pin, with 25 points awarded for efforts in the semi-circle, 10 points for the outer circle and five points for any other shot staying on the green.

Fleetwood finished runner-up to Wallace in the group stage, where he found the green with all 10 of his allocated balls, before finding a final-hole bullseye to beat Charley Hull 135-125 in a close-fought semi-final.

The tournament host then faced Wallace in the final, where he hit maximum points with three consecutive shots on his way to an emphatic 250-70 victory.

Wallace went inches away from a hole-in-one on his way to topping the opening group with 230 points ahead of Fleetwood, who came second with 160, while Martin Kaymer was eliminated after finding the water six times and only managed 65 points.

Hull won the other group after posting 175 points from the nine balls she struck in the allocated time, with Stephen Gallacher finding semi-bulls with the final two shots of his 130 to finish ahead of inaugural Hero Challenge winner Alexander Levy.
