Chris Wood happy with Wentworth opener despite late slips

Chris Wood was delighted to put an injury-hit five months behind him after opening with a solid four-under 68 in the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth.
The Bristol professional has played only six tournaments on the European Tour this season after being sidelined for five months due to a broken bone in his wrist.
Wood suffered the injury while having a tennis lesson back in October, but he has been edging his way back to full fitness and looked in good touch on the first morning at the West Course.
After cruising to the turn in 33, Wood carded three birdies in a row from the 12th although he blotted his card with a six at 17 after pulling his second shot out of bounds, and he then missed a four-foot putt for a birdie at the last.
"It's disappointing to finish six, five but the second shot on the 17th was the only poor one I hit all day," he said. "I've been fighting a left shot for a year now."
Describing his freak accident in October, the 6ft 6in Wood added:"It's a long way for me to fall and it hurt. I was in a cast for two months and it was a nightmare to miss out on the Desert Swing this year - particularly as I won in Qatar in 2013 - watching on telly when it's freezing at home and 30 degrees in Dubai.
"It's been a struggle and feels like I have been working hard to finish 30th every week. I did finish third in Morocco but I think it was always going to be a bit of a battle after five months.
"But we are coming into the meat of the season now so hopefully I can find my form."
