Justin Thomas chips in at Oakmont, not once but twice

The putting surfaces at Oakmont are among the quickest in America, so Justin Thomas took them out of the equation with back-to-back chip-in birdies.

Beginning his round at three-over par, Thomas had parred the first four holes of his second round with no hint of the drama to come from him at 7 and 8.

The 23-year-old birdied the fifth but gave that shot back immediately on six before the fireworks began and he moved back to one-over for the tournament.

Thomas found himself just off the putting surface on the par four seventh after his first two shots, and chipped in brilliantly, before repeating the feat from an almost identical position on the par three eighth.
