From a major victory to record-breaking rounds, we look back at the highlights from new USA Ryder Cup Captain Jim Furyk's career.

Furyk been an ever-present part of the USA Ryder Cup setup since making his debut in 1997, featuring in nine consecutive tournaments as a player before assisting Davis Love III at Hazeltine last autumn.

Jim Furyk confirmed as USA captain for the 2018 Ryder Cup in France

The 46-year-old has racked up 17 PGA Tour titles - including the 2010 Tour Championship, which also secured him the FedExCup title and $10m bonus jackpot.

Despite registering 23 major top-10s in his career,  Furyk's only success to date came at the 2003 US Open - where the American claimed a three-shot victory over nearest challenger Stephen Leaney.

Furyk entered the record books during the second round of the 2013 BMW Championship, where he posted a round of 59 to become only the sixth player in PGA Tour history to shoot sub-60. 

He then went even lower three years later at the Travelers Championship, as he carded 10 birdies and an eagle during the final round to shoot a history-making 58.
