Trio on 18 under ahead of Monday conclusion

Swedish pair Daniel Chopra and Fredrik Jacobson were joined by Japan's Shigeki Maruyama at the top of the leaderboard as bad light forced play in the final round of the Ginn sur Mer Classic to be suspended. On a day which had initially seen Chopra make light of rain-sodden conditions at the Tesoro Club to romp away from the field, the Stockholm player ultimately found himself tied on 18-under-par.

Advantage

Seeking a maiden win on the Tour, Chopra had been two ahead of the field when the rain-delayed third round was completed on Sunday morning and increased his advantage with birdies on each of the first three holes. He then stretched his lead to four at the turn; however, the rot then began to set in for Chopra with bogeys at both the 10th and 13th holes. Nevertheless, ending his day's work at the 15th hole, Chopra was one under for the round. Meanwhile, Jacobson was one hole ahead and on four under for his own round when play was halted - his chance to tie Chopra for the lead coming thanks to a fifth birdie of the day on the 15th. Playing alongside Jacobson, three-times PGA Tour winner Maruyama also birdied the 15th to move to 16 under.
Spectacular
However, he then joined both men in a tie for the lead - and in spectacular fashion: Maruyama holing out from a greenside bunker on the par-five 16th for an eagle. Elsewhere, the round of the truncated day came from Dicky Pride, who eagled the par-five second and birdied the last four holes for a nine-under 64 - which lifted the American into fourth place on 16 under. The fourth round is scheduled to resume at 0800 local time on Monday (1200 GMT).
