A final-hole blemish left Lydia Ko tied for the lead with Candie Kung heading in to the final round of the Canada Pacific Women's Open.

The teenager, who won the tournament twice as an amateur, missed a par-save from 10 feet at the 18th to card her first bogey in 46 holes and slip back to 12 under alongside Kung.

Beginning the round two adrift of overnight leader Kung, the New Zealander took the lead after following three birdies on the front nine with another gain at the 12th, but closed a three-under 72 when her approach at the par-four last found the bunker.

Third round leaders

-12 Lydia Ko (Nzl)
-12 Candie Kung (Tai)
-10 Alison Lee (USA)
-9 Karine Icher (Fra)
-8 Azahara Munoz (Esp)
Others
-7 Charley Hull (Eng)
-7 Stacy Lewis (USA)
-6 Inbee Park (Kor)

"That was my first bogey in two days. I'll take that," Ko said."I played really solid. You never know what's going to happen, I just have to play my own game."

Kung, still looking for her first win since 2008 after finishing tied-second at last week's Canadian Women's Open, produced four birdies in a mixed one-under 71 to stay in the hunt.

"I hit the ball good and it was actually one of the best ball-striking days I had all week," Kung said. " I just missed a couple putts here and there - those were all wrong reads."

Kung shot a 71 and will bid for her first win since 2008 after hanging tough with Ko on Saturday.

American Alison Lee shot a 66 to get within two of the leading pair, with first-round pacesetter Karine Icher a further stroke back.

A birdie-filled 67 from English star Charley Hull pushes her in to the group on seven under, while four gains over the final six holes from world No 1 Inbee Park keeps her in contention six off the pace.
