Andrew Coltart looks back at an impressive display from Tyrrell Hatton at the British Masters and reviews the second-round action at Close House.

You wouldn't have thought it earlier, but those out this morning in that heavy rain maybe got the best of the conditions. There was a little breeze later in the day and the early starters didn't have to contend with that.

EuropeanTour stars put their Geordie accents to the test, with Geordie Shore's Gary Beadle providing the correct answers!

The softer conditions made it a little trickier on the putting surfaces for the later starters, which pushed the scoring up by a shot this afternoon.

Hatton's playing lovely and the confidence appears to be returning to him. He has a new caddie on the bag and that seems to have just sparked things a little within his game.

He was hitting fairways, was aggressive when he needed to be and now heads into the weekend with a three-shot lead.

He knew the greens were a little bit bobbly on Thursday, but he used his patience and took full advantage of the smoother putting surfaces this morning.

There are so many distractions for tournament-host Lee Westwood this week, both on the course and around the event itself.

I don't think you can say enough about what he has done to be honest. He was hoping that a lot of people would come to watch, which he has seen this week with great crowds.

He is doing a great job in going out and being able to separate the two jobs as tournament host and player. Westwood is doing the business on the golf course and is in a great position heading into the weekend.

Rory McIlroy is quite a way back but could still go low over the weekend. I thought some of his putts were better today and it was great that he dug in there to make it through.
