Harmon puts world number three back on track

Ernie Els has praised coach Butch Harmon for rescuing his 'out of whack' swing. Els paired up with Harmon in April after splitting from David Leadbetter, his mentor of 20 years. And the South African believes some technical adjustments will set the platform for a surge in form over the coming months, starting with the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth this week. "I think technically I got out of whack and I need to get back," said Els. "Like I said to Butch when I started working with him, I was probably a three out of 10 and I'm slowly getting up to maybe five or six now. "Hopefully by the second major (US Open in June) I'll be up to seven (out of 10) and going forward. "I think when the technical side becomes very comfortable the game will just fall in place." Els has won seven World Match Play titles on Wentworth's West Course, where he also owns a house. But he has never won the BMW PGA Championship in 12 attempts, his best finish being runners-up on three occasions.
