Aussie edges two clear in Champions event

Katherine Hull overcame a two-hour delay for thunderstorms to claim a two-shot lead entering the final round of the HSBC Women's Champions event in Singapore. Hull, fresh from victory in the Australian Masters last month, completed her round with a birdie at the final hole to record a 66 to move to 11-under-par after three rounds. Starting the day one off the pace, the Australian birdied three of the first five holes and after dropping her first shot of the day at the sixth, promptly added four more birdies. "I'd love to shoot another 66 but I'll just stick to the same game plan - hit as many fairways and greens as possible and make as many putts as possible," said Hull. "The key for me is to stay focused on the process as opposed to trying to shoot a particular score. "I'm liking the fact I have a two-shot lead, and I'm confident in how I'm playing. So game on." Angela Stanford is her closest pursuer with the American moving into contention with a flawless round of 66, atoning for a double-bogey at the 18th the previous evening. Overnight leaders Paula Creamer and Jane Park slipped back after carding rounds of 72 and 73 respectively, and were overtaken by South Korean duo Sun-Young Yoo and Mi-Hyun Kim. Defending champion Lorena Ochoa lies six strokes back after a quiet round in which she didn't make a single bogey but picked up just three birdies.
