Englishman excited to be returning to action

Paul Casey has confirmed he will make his comeback from injury at next week's Volvo World Match Play Championship in Spain. The Englishman has not played competitively since he withdrew from the early stages of the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational back in August. Casey suffered a torn rib muscle whilst practising for The Open Championship at Turnberry and aggravated the injury at Firestone. His fitness problems came at a hugely frustrating time for 32-year-old who had already won three times this season and had climbed to a career high of three in the world rankings. He also sat second in the Race to Dubai standings, but because of his inactivity now finds himself back in fourth - behind Martin Kaymer, Rory McIlroy and Lee Westwood. However, he is poised for a return to action and is looking forward to reigniting his challenge in the inaugural Race to Dubai. "The doctor has now given me the all-clear to get back to playing," Casey stated. "Although the injury is not 100% repaired and there is a little discomfort in the area, I have been informed I'm all clear to resume playing and practising as per normal. "I am not expecting to be tournament sharp straightaway. However, I'm very excited to be getting back to competition and resuming my challenge for the Race to Dubai. "The Volvo World Match Play Championship is a great place to start, and I hope I can finish off this season the way I started it."
