Tiger's forgettable 2010

Latest Golf Stories

In 2010, Tiger Woods endured his first winless season since he turned professional in August 1996. He also lost top-spot to Lee Westwood in the World Ranking, while his popularity plummeted following a difficult 12 months in his private life. However, on his first outing of the 2010 season at Augusta, the omens looked pretty good for Woods after he tied-for-4th behind champion Phil Mickelson. He replicated this position at Pebble Beach two months later in the US Open but aside from the season's opening two Major championships there were no other top-10 finishes in official PGA Tour events. In fact, the closest he came to winning an official PGA Tour event was at the US Open when he ended up three strokes behind eventual champion Graeme McDowell. And as the year drew to a close, he tied-sixth in China, was fourth in Australia and lost a play-off to McDowell in the invitational Chevron World Challenge in California. Here are some Tiger stats for 2010 - better luck next year.
