ISPS Handa New Zealand Women’s Open: Charley Hull looking forward to facing world No 1 Lydia Ko

Charley Hull will be pitted against world No 1 Lydia Ko and RCAV Ladies Masters champion Su Oh in a star-studded group at this week's New Zealand Women's Open.

The Ladies European Tour Order of Merit winner has posted two top-10 finishes on the Tour this year despite a new coach and a remodelled swing, finishing tied-second in last week's RCAV Ladies Masters.

Hull will be the 'veteran' of the in-form trio in New Zealand despite only being 18-years-old, but says there's no rivalry between her and Ko.

“Not really, you’re just playing the course,” Hull said. “I enjoy playing with Lydia (Ko); I think it’s a lot of fun again playing out there with her.

“I’ve played with her in nearly every LPGA event I get invited to and now I’ve got my card this year I’ve played with her last week as well.”

Hull and Ko have clashed numerous times on LPGA Tour events, including last week at Queensland, but it will be Oh's first time playing with the world No 1.

Oh finished tied-ninth when featuring as an amateur at Clearwater two years ago and believes she'll once again be able to handle the tough conditions.

"I am looking forward to playing with her (Ko)," Oh said. "She is the world's best. I have seen her playing, but not close up.

"“I know it is going to be windy. I don’t mind playing in the wind, it is a real challenge. If I play well in the wind I feel like I have really accomplished something.

Former champion Laura Davies also features, with the 51-year-old keen to bounce back from a disappointing start to the season.

“I feel like I am hitting it well, my results the last two weeks over here haven’t been good," Davies said. "Those results wouldn’t suggest a win is coming up, but I know how well I have been hitting it and I’ve been working the chipping and putting which has been the bad point of my game.”
