The Course

Callander Golf Club is an 18-hole course situated within the beautiful Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park.  As you would imagine the setting provides spectacular surroundings for this parkland course which boasts panaromic views to Ben Ledi.

15th at Callander Golf Club – called the avenue. It’s a 130 yard par 3 – through an avenue of oak trees – and through that avenue shines Ben Ledi’s magnificence. It’s not the longest par 3 but only a pin-sharp drive will reach the green, well-guarded by a huge bunker at its front. I enjoyed a hole in one at last year’s captains day which cost me dearly at the 19th hole, but well worth it.

Mike Cantlay, Chairman of VisitScotland from 2010-2016

The club opened in 1890 at Muir of Gart as a 9-hole course, and in 1892 moved to the present site in Callander, a location which was considered more easily accessible. It was in 1913 that the course was extended to 18-holes after the Town Council purchased the course and additional fields.

The Hole

The 15th hole is Callender Golf Course’s signature hole, which is aptly named, Avenue. When you tee off from this hole, you do so through an avenue of trees with Ben Ledi standing tall in the distance.  The combination of this stunning scene and the challenges your faced with on the fairway and the green have often resulted in this hole being referred to as one of the most famous par 3’s in Scotland. Join Scotland's Community to share your Scottish golfing favourites.

As mentioned, Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park is home to Callander Golf Club, but that’s not all that can be enjoyed from Scotland’s first National Park.  Rare wildlife such as, Capercaillie, the world’s largest grouse species, and red squirrels, Britains only native squirrel can also be spotted  here. Plus there’s plenty of opportunity for activities, whether it be on foot, by bike or in the water, you’re sure to be inspired by the stunning landscape that links glistening lochs, to rolling hills and towering mountains.
