We continue our countdown to Royal Birkdale by looking back at when Jason Day came into the Open Zone before a special behind-the-scenes insight.

The Australian, who went into the week at Royal Troon as world No 1, joined Claude Harmon III to reveal how he likes to hit tee shots and prepare for a major - plus demonstrate his routine and technique.

"I try and hold my finish just a little bit, maybe one to two seconds, and if I'm falling off balance it means I'm trying to swing it a little bit too hard," said Day.

"Centre of contact is very big in this game, if you hit the centre of the club then it'll go a lot further than just trying to hit it as hard as you can."

He added: "It's so easy to sit behind a TV and say you should do this and that, because in the heat of the battle it's a lot harder than it looks. You've just got to keep putting yourself there and giving yourself the opportunities."
