WATCH: Zach Johnson comes close to the 2016 US Open's first hole-in-one

We've had chip-in eagles and long range birdie putts at Oakmont but Zach Johnson came closest to the first hole-in-one of the week.

As well as pitching-in from off the green, the likes of Gregory Bourdy, Jon Rahm and Yusaku Miyazato have shown there is not always a need for the putter.
Lee Westwood managed to chip in for a second time in the week but Johnson almost gave us the first hole-out from the tee.
The two-time Major champion, who will defend the Open at Troon next month, took aim on the 13th tee with an iron in his hand and 164 yards to the pin.
Johnson fired his tee shot over the flag and using the slope saw his effort come back towards the cup at a steady pace.
And as it got closer the crowd rose only to see the ball just burn the edge of the hole, leaving the 2007 Masters champion just a couple of inches for his birdie.
