Following Brooks Koepka's victory in the 118th US Open at Shinnecock Hills, we take a look at some of the standout numbers...
ONE
Koepka's four-round total of 281 (+1) is the first time the US Open champion has finished over par since Justin Rose's one-over 281 total at Merion in 2013.
TWO
Number of strokes Phil Mickelson was penalised for hitting a moving ball on Saturday.
THREE
Number of strokes the entire field improved by from Saturday to Sunday at the 2018 US Open. Saturday's average score was 75.33 while Sunday saw an average of 72.18.
FOUR
2016 champion Dustin Johnson finished third. This is his fourth top-five finish out of his 11 US Open appearances.
FIVE
The number of cuts missed by Rory McIlroy at the US Open in 10 attempts. The Northern Irishman has only finished in the top 10 three times, although he did win it in 2011.
SIX
The number of times players have defended a major since the US Open was last defended by Curtis Strange in 1989. Nick Faldo (The Masters 1989-1990), Tiger Woods (PGA Championship 1999-2000, The Masters 2001-02, The Open 2005-06 and the PGA Championship 2006-07) and Padraig Harrington (The Open 2007-08) were the others.
SEVEN
Koepka is the seventh player to win consecutive US Open titles and the first since Strange in 1988-89. Overall, he is the 22nd player to win more than one US Open.
EIGHT
The number of years until Shinnecock Hills hosts the US Open again in 2026.
NINE
Tommy Fleetwood completed the final round in nine fewer shots than Koepka (63 to 72), but it wasn't enough to catch him.
TEN
The number of years since Tiger Woods' last major win at the US Open. He secured the 2008 tournament in a play-off at Torrey Pines.
THIRTEEN
The number of majors played by Jordan Spieth since he last missed a cut at the PGA Championship in 2014. Since then he's won three, finished second twice and third once.
TWENTY-ONE
Fleetwood moved up the leaderboard 21 spots between round three (T23) and round four (2). This is the largest move up the leaderboard into a second-place finish in the history of the US Open.
TWENTY-SEVEN
Steve Stricker made the cut for a 27th consecutive major that he's started, a run going back to the 2010 Masters.
SIXTY-THREE
Fleetwood's 63 is the lowest single round score recorded in any US Open at Shinnecock (2004, 1995, 1986, 1896).
SEVENTY-ONE
The field recorded 71 more birdies in Round 4 (184) than Round 3 (113). This is the largest increase in birdies between round three and round four since 1970 (when complete full field scores are available).
SEVENTY-FIVE
Koepka is the first US Open champion since Raymond Floyd (1986) to open with a score of 75 or higher.
