Danielle Williams added another gold medal for Jamaica after claiming a narrow victory in the 100 metres hurdles at the World Championships in Beijing.

In a closely contested final, Williams powered over the final hurdle and seized first place with a time of 12.57 seconds, holding off Germany's Cindy Roleder, who won silver in 12.59, while Alina Talay took bronze in a Belarus record of 12.66.

America's defending champion Brianna Rollins was forced to settle for fourth place in 12.67, 0.01 ahead of Great Britain's Tiffany Porter.

Following a strong start, Porter briefly led the race but fell away over the closing hurdles, and tumbled over the line as she desperately tried to claim bronze.
