They extended their franchise-record winning streak to 17 games with a 107-96 victory over the Utah Jazz on Sunday night.

Caron Butler scored 29 points for Los Angeles, with Chris Paul and Jamal Crawford contributing 19 points apiece at Staples Center as the Clippers moved to 16-0 for December.

This meant that they joined the 1995-96 San Antonio Spurs and 1971-72 Lakers as the only teams to record a perfect month.

Al Jefferson poured in a game-high 30 points however; this could not prevent Utah from slipping to a third loss in a row.

Meanwhile, San Antonio were another team to continue their good form, stretching their winning run to five games with a 111-86 victory over Dallas at the American Airlines Center.

Tony Parker scored 21 points, Manu Ginobili 20 and Tim Duncan 18 as the Spurs sentenced the Mavericks to a sixth consecutive defeat.

Elsewhere, Detroit blew a 14-point lead before edging past Milwaukee 96-94.

Finally, Isaiah Thomas' 27 points elevated the Sacramento Kings to a 118-96 triumph over Boston and sent the Celtics tumbling to a third straight loss.
