A 100-88 win means Oklahoma will take first place in the West if they keep winning, at the expense of San Antonio, who currently head the table by half a game.
Russell Westbrook scored a game-high 27 points for the Thunder and also grabbed seven rebounds and handed out seven assists.
Kevin Durant added 25 points, nine rebounds and six assists for the Thunder, while veteran Derek Fisher drained five three-pointers in contributing 17 points off the bench.
Tim Duncan and Kawhi Leonard notched double-doubles for the Spurs, but they have now lost three of their last four games.
Duncan and Leonard both scored 24 points, Duncan adding 11 rebounds and Leonard pulling down 14.
The Chicago Bulls posted a 92-90 win over the Brooklyn Nets, whose Deron Williams scored 30 points but finished on the losing side.
Elsewhere, the Denver Nuggets pipped the Dallas Mavericks 95-94, Andre Iguodala clinching the team's 19th straight home win with under three seconds remaining.
